

Dr. Chaka Blackman
Dr. Chaka Blackman is the Principal Consultant and founder of Future Focus Consulting. In her daily work, she helps businesses define and achieve their strategic priorities with a focus on three core service areas—Resource Development/Mobilization, Research/Evaluative Practice, and Professional Development/Technical Assistance. In addition to her consulting work, Dr. Blackman is a respected professor who teaches in the business departments at Temple University and Southern New Hampshire University. Her signature courses, including Nonprofit Board Fellows, Women in Leadership, Resource Planning
and Decision Making, and Leading the Organization, reflect her commitment to developing the next generation of leaders. Before founding Future Focus Consulting, Dr. Blackman spent over 15 years in the nonprofit sector, where she served in various roles, progressing to executive director. In this role, she
designed and implemented evidence-based, research-driven programs focused on empowering youth, young adults, and families. Dr. Blackman holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Temple University’s Fox School of Business, where her research intersects culture, social mechanisms, and enterprise. She also earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Baruch College, City University of New York.
